Graduate Certificates – information for completing students
Eligibility to receive a Graduate Certificate
To be eligible to receive a UTS award in Spring 2012, you must have:
- settled any outstanding debts and returned all UTS Library items by Friday 3 August 2012
- attained a status of 'Passed' as displayed in My Student Admin
You should also have:
- submitted any corrections to your formal name by Friday 3 August 2012, using the Correction of Name application form (PDF), and
- made any changes to your preferred mailing address in My Student Admin
Your formal name will appear on your testamur, academic record and AHEGS. You can see your formal name displayed in the 'Personal Details' section of My Student Admin.
Your preferred mailing address is setup in the 'Contact Details' subsection of 'Personal Details' in My Student Admin.
Note: All information and graduation documents will be sent to your preferred mailing address.
Awards and graduation rules
Rules governing awards and graduation are in Section 13: Awards and Graduation of the University's Student and Related Rules.
Faculties are responsible for a student's academic progression. If you have any inquiries about your academic progression you should contact your Student Centre.
Presentation ceremonies and collection of certificates
Graduate Certificates are conferred by resolution of the University Council (rule 13.4.1) but are not presented at University graduation ceremonies (rule 13.4.2). However, some faculties conduct graduate certificate presentation ceremonies. Invitations to these events are sent to your preferred mailing address after the awards have been conferred. If you do not wish to attend this event, your certificate will be mailed to you or you can collect it from the Building 1 Student Centre between the dates listed below. Any certificates not collected will be mailed to your preferred mailing address
