Course withdrawal
Course withdrawal is the permanent withdrawal from your entire course at UTS.
It is not used for withdrawal from individual subject enrolment.

Before apply for course withdrawal you should discuss your decision and it's implications with an appropriate person.
Ensure that you have considered all of your options, and made a decision which works for you. If possible, keep your options open to resume study here or elsewhere in the future.
Course withdrawal application
Information about course withdrawal application:
Course withdrawal is effective from the date you lodge your application.
If you want your course withdrawal to be effective from the semester following the current semester, please wait until the end of the examination period to lodge your application.
If you wish to withdraw from more than one course, lodge separate applications for each course.
Applications made:
Before the census date
- Will not incur academic penalty,
- subjects in which you were enrolled will be cancelled, and
- refund and/or remission of your upfront tuition fees and/or HELP debt will be calculated.
After the census date
- Will be processed with academic penalty,
- Withdrawn Fail will appear against the subjects that you were enrolled in.
If course withdrawal after the census date is due to special circumstances, such as illness or misadventure, contact your UTS Student Centre before lodging your application.

Once you have lodged your application:
- you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application, and
- (at a later date) another email informing you of the outcome of your application.
Both emails will be sent to your UTS webmail account.
