Census date
UTS is required to set a census date for each unit of study it offers. The census date is the last day to withdraw from a subject. The last day to enrol in a subject for both Autumn and Spring semesters is the end of the second week of semester. Check with your Student Centre for enrolment deadlines for subjects offered in summer session and other short teaching sessions.
The census date for all teaching periods is the date on which these important things happen:
- you become financially liable for any subjects in which you are enrolled,
- it's the final day you can withdraw from a subject without:
- financial liability, and
- academic penalty,
- you incur a HELP debt for any units for which you have taken out a HELP loan,
- Commonwealth supported students consume their student learning entitlement (SLE),
- it's the final day for Commonwealth supported students, and students requesting Commonwealth assistance can:
- submit appropriate Commonwealth assistance forms, and
- may provide their tax file number (TFN), if you defer your fees,
- it's the final day the UTS is allowed to accept upfront payments of Commonwealth supported places (CSP) student contributions, however earlier deadlines for payment may apply see the due dates.
